Get the app
During the beta, VanZen for iPhone comes through TestFlight, Apple’s app for testing new apps. When you are invited, we email you a link.
- On your iPhone, open the invitation email and tap the TestFlight link.
- If you don’t have TestFlight yet, install it from the App Store when it asks.
- In TestFlight, tap Install next to VanZen.
- Open VanZen from your Home Screen.
TestFlight installs updates to the beta. Some smaller updates arrive inside the app the next time you open it.
There is no username or password on iPhone. The app sets itself up the first time you open it, so you can start right away.
If you also use VanZen in a browser or on a Mac, you sign in there with your web account. See VanZen on the web and VanZen for Mac.
The first time you open it
- Read Welcome to VanZen. Tick I’m 16 or older and I agree to the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and License. Then tap Agree and continue.
- A short tour shows how vMasks work and where the main controls are. You can add names you always want hidden to My Protected Terms here, or later.
- VanZen offers Lock VanZen, which asks for Face ID before the app opens. Tap Turn on or Not now. You can change it later in Settings → Privacy.
To see the welcome screens again, open Settings → Help → Replay welcome. Your chats and settings stay.
Your first chat
- Type in the box that says How can I help?
- Tap the send button.
- To add a photo or a file, tap + first.
New chats start in Direct Chat, which sends your message as written. To hide personal details first, switch to vMask Chat. vMask Chat and Direct Chat explains both.
VanZen is AI and can be wrong. Check anything important yourself.
